This year’s Big Arts event ‘Trash to Treasure’ used art to excite, inform and educate our children about environmental issues and the impact of waste on our earth; land, sea and air.
Our Goodness Garden was turned into a landfill site to give a visual insight into the impact of landfill on what would normally be an area of beauty and cultivation.
All workshops used donated waste materials from the community and focused on children learning to recycling, reuse and think about reducing waste.
The children worked in mixed aged groups from FS2 to Y6 supporting each other. On the final day we opened our doors to parents and the children took their parents around the school to view their hard work as part of our Celebrate & Evaluate session.
